Reality ...

“One’s first step in wisdom is to question everything – and one’s last is to come to terms with everything.”                                                                 – Georg C. Lichtenberg

I struck rock bottom at 13 years of age when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I initially thought that life with diabetes would have been a treacherous journey; but then, no one could convince me otherwise that I was not sentenced to death. Today, I am happy and proud to say it has been more than twenty years since my diagnosis and I have grown, persevered and met the challenges that come with the disease. I believe diabetes makes you tough and relentless in your drive to achieve everything you aspire to do and become through education and hard work.

Every single young or newly diagnosed diabetic out there must realize that it is okay to be scared and fearful. Diabetes has its days when it does not like you taking control of the wheels; but you cannot give in or give up. You have to hold the steering wheel firmly and ride it out.

This is beginning of my story, my journey, living with Type 1 Diabetes.
